Mahara, founder and photographer behind Crosslight Media
Based in Sarnia, Ontario

Hi, I’m Mahara!

The person behind Crosslight Media.

Photographer, filmmaker, content creator, wife, mom of two, and the person who will probably get far too excited when we capture something beautiful.

I’m here to help families, professionals, and businesses feel comfortable in front of the camera and walk away with something that genuinely feels like them.

A little about me

A creative heart, a busy family, and usually a camera nearby.

As a wife and mom of two, I’m very familiar with beautiful chaos, changing plans, children who have absolutely no interest in sitting still, and how quickly the little things become the things you miss most.

Crosslight Media brings together the work I love: photographing real people, creating videos that carry emotion, and helping local businesses show the personality and purpose behind what they do.

I care about creating beautiful work, but I care just as much about the experience you have while we create it. I want you to feel welcomed, encouraged, and free to be yourself.

My approach

Gentle guidance. Room to be real.

Most people tell me they feel awkward in front of a camera. Parents worry their children will not cooperate. Professionals wonder what they should do with their hands. Business owners are not always sure how to turn their ideas into images. None of that surprises me.

You don’t need to know how to pose or perform for the camera. I’ll give you direction when you need it, keep an eye on the little details, and leave room for genuine interaction.

  • Direction without stiff posing
  • Patience for children and changing plans
  • Help with the details you may not notice
  • Space for personality, movement, and real interaction

Why Crosslight?

Beautiful work should still feel honest.

Crosslight Media serves families, professionals, and businesses, but the purpose remains the same: to create work that looks polished without losing the person, relationship, or purpose behind it.

Sometimes that means catching the expression nobody planned. Sometimes it means helping someone finally feel confident in a professional portrait. Sometimes it means giving a local business the images and content it needs to show up clearly.

Different people. Different projects. Always created with care.
